APPEAL FOR BIRDS
Sir, —Just a plea for the little birds these cold days. I save all the crumbs and odd crusts and feed the birds with them. The berries and grass seeds are mostly done now. It is a pity the thrushes and the blackbirds are fewer in number nowadays. It is always a delight to hear the sweet song of these birds during the spring and summer. May I add a word for the stray cat? I feed the cats on odd bits of meat or bones left over at meals, and dried milk mixed with water. The feeding costs little this way.—Yours, etc., MEMBER S.P.C.A.
