M.E.D. CLOCK
Sir,—l read in your columns recently of an engineer who said he could light up the face of the Post Office clock. Will he tell Mr Hitchcock how to light up the clock at M.E.D. so that we can see the time after dark.—Yours, etc., TEMPUS FUGIT. June 13, 1943, [The general manager of the Municipal Electricity Department (Mr E. H. Hitchcock) yesterday that the department was not responsible for the maintenance of the clock. This was undertaken by a company, which, like other firms, was affected by shortage of labour, and could not carry out repairs immediately.]
