LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 8. . The Island Territories Bill, the External Affairs Bill, and the Patents, Designs, and Trademarks Amendment Bill were introduced in the Legislative Council to-day, and read a first time. The council paid a tribute to the work for transport in Christchurch, and the sport of trotting in New Zealand of Mr William Hayward, a member of the Legislative Council from 1934 to 1941, who died last week. The council adjourned as a mark of respect until to-morrow.
