DISTRICT E.P.S. CONTROLLER

Sir,—l was amazed to read “District Warden’s” attack on the appointment of a permanent official for control of the E.P.S. I was amazed because I have never seen such muddles as the E.P.S. gets into. lam privileged to be present at a district headquarters and have seen the ghastly waste of time and bungling at previous trials. Haying personally seen Britain’s A.R.P. in action, I feel that the new official’s valuable experience there will help the E.P.S. greatly. “District Warden” says that recently power of control had been placed in district wardens’ hands. All I say is “thank goodness the power is now in capable hands and not in those of men unfitted for it.” —Yours, etc., E.P.S. WORKER. June 5, 1943.
