Puzzled.—lnformation given about Air Force pay was incorrect. An air-, craftsman is paid at Army or Air \ Force rates, whichever rate is the i higher. Instead of receiving a flat rate, the married man with a family now receives family • allowances. A married aircraftsman, second class, with one child receives £219 plus a domestic allowance of £45 (paid direct to the wife); with two ch.ldren £246, plus £45 domestic allowance; with three children £274, plus £45 domestic allowance. He is compelled to allot to his wife £lO a month if he has no children: £l2 5s if there is one child; £ls 5s if two children: arid £l7 10s if three children. A "living-out” allowance of £54 15s a year is granted if he lives off the station.
