c KING’S BIRTHDAY To mark the observance of the King’s Birthday, all ships in port at Lyttelton yesterday were dressed with bunting. Otherwise there was little to indicate the holiday, most of the waterfront working as usual. A few tramping parties were to be met with on the hills, but the threatening weather, and in particular the mist which covered the hills all day, prevented the parties from venturing too far.
