AN AMERICAN’S GRATITUDE

Sir,—l have just returned to the States after a snort stay in your city. I am speaking not only for myself, but for other members of the United States merchant navy, when I say we have never been treated as well as we were in Christchurch. I wish it were possible to express our feeling of appreciation for the many acts of kindness which the people of Christchurch showed us. I can honestly say that it is one city we are looking forward to visiting again. Thanks again for your hospitality and friendship and until we return again.—Cheerio! WILLIAM WILSON. San Francisco.
