OBITUARY

MR G. H. HAY LOCK Mr George Henry Hayiock, who died in Christchurch on Thursday, was 79 years of age. and was born at Akaroa. He was the eldest son of the late Mr George Hayiock, who arrived at Akaroa in 1850 in the Monarch The family came from Essex. England. When Mr Haylock's father arrived at Akaroa. he imported a flourmill from England, securing the wheat from the Canterbury plains. Mr Hayiock was engaged in the building trade at Akaroa for many years, and retired to Christchurch about 15 years ago. He served for one term on the Akaroa Borough Council He is survived by his widow, two daughters. Mrs F. v R. E. Davis (Akaroa) and Mrs E. Phillips (Te Kuiti). and one son, Mr M. Hayiock (Christchurch).
