QUEEN CARNIVAL The position yesterday of the queens in the Queen Carnival contest which is being held in aid of the Patriotic Fund was Army, Air Force, Navy, and Nursing Services. The committees of the various queens are now working at high pressure and concerts, plain and fancy dress dances, community singing, sales of mystery parcels, and picture benefits have been arranged. This week the pupils of the Lyttelton Main School (Navy Queen) held a bottle drive and many thousands of bottles were collected and sold. Some of the committees have taken over unoccupied shops and are conducting amusement parlours and sales of goods.
