OUTBUILDING ON FIRE

* An outbuilding at the Southern Cross Hotel, 2 Moorhouse avenue, was severely damaged by fire shortly after 8 o’clock last evening. The building, which was situated close to the hotel itself, was well ablaze when the Christchurch Central Fire Brigade arrived. However, the brigade had no difficulty in suppressing the outbreak, and no damage was done to the hotel. The cause of the outbreak is not known.

The premises are owned by Mr T. G. Fox, of Christchurch, and the present licensee is Mr F. C. Dunlevey. The dHMg* it oowwad far ipsuranoa.
