EDUCATIONIST’S TRIP

DR. A, G. BUTCHERS BACK FROM AMERICA

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND. September 30.

Having attended the first international conference on correspondence education held at Victoria, British Columbia, Dr. A. G. Butchers returned by the Mariposa. He is headmaster of the correspondence school conducted by the New Zealand Education Department. He said that he did not feel at liberty to discuss Hie trip in detail, as he would present a report to the department. He visited departments of education in the United States and the provinces of Canada and schools and universities. He investigated the unification of administration and control in education, systems of accrediting for university entrance, facilities for rural education, and methods of adult education. Dr. Butchers will leave to-night for Wellington.
