MARCH THROUGH CITY
♦ FIRST BATTALION, CANTERBURY REGIMENT
Headed by their band. Christchurch members of the Ist Battalion, Canterbury Regiment, will march through the city on Monday evening. The parade will leave the King Edward Barracks at 7.30 p.m., and will probably include the latest Army vehicles. This march is part of the recruiting week programme for the regiment. The association of the Canterbury Regiment with the city of Christchurch goes back to the early days of Canterbury, and many of' the bestknown names in the province also appear on old rolls of the regiment. To-day. the Canterbury Regiment maintains the old volunteer traditions of co-operation, friendship, and enthusiasm. It is supplied with the most modern equipment, and is a unit of which the city may well be proud. On the return of the parade to the King Edward Barracks, the ordinary training programme will be carried out, which the public is invited to watch.
