CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION ELECTION OP OFFICERS It was decided at the annual general meeting of the Canterbury Bowing Association last night that if pennis sion obtained the mterprovmcial eight-oar championship* would be held at Stewart’s Gully at Easter. It was also decided that another learn-to-row week should be held this season, A motion of gratitude was earned unanimously to the retiring president (Mr F. D. Kesteven). , . The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr F, D. Kesteven; president. Mr R. E. Nightingale; vice-presidents, Messrs W. H. Evans. G. H. Hobbs (Avon Rowing Club to nominate a third vicepresident); secretary and treasurer, Mr R. J. Hobbs; auditor, Mr G. L Berry; delegates to the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association, Messrs A. D., Bayfield, S. I. Kidd, M. A. Turner; delegate , to Pioneer Amateur Sport* Club, Mr R. J. Hobbs; hcad-of-nver committee, ; Messrs C. A. Cooper, G. H. Hobbs, JB. Taylor, and F. Agassiz; boat committee. Messrs F. L. Booth, S. R. Walker, G. H. Hobbs, and A. T. Evans. The appointment of a selector and coach was left over until another meeting of the executive. As a mark of respect to Mr XJ. Lee, ■ who died recently, the meeting stood in silence.
