BLOMFIELD BEATS DETTON AUCKLAND. September 27. Finally he saw the referee leaving the ring, chased him. caught him by the shirt, and attempted to drag him back. As Detton continued to. demonstrate, he was showered with pennies, lollies, and newspapers.

The first fall went to the American in the fifth round, when he subdfled Blomfield with-two heavy dumps, after having; weakened him with several

flying tackles and beadlock throws. The New Zealander staged a good recov- ' ery, however, and he finally trapped Detton with his octopus clamp in the seventh round, and won a submission : 1 fall. „ - ...
