WAIMAKARIRI CLUB’S MEETING The commodore. Mr D. Crozifer, presided at the annual meeting of the Walmakariri Sailing and Power Boat Club, held in the Foresters’ Hall. Kalapol, on Thursday evening. The committee, reviewing the activities of the club last season, said that the membership had been well maintained and was at present 50. The yacht racing had been keenly contested during the season, and the club had again been represented at the Canterbury regatta. Three of the club’s boats. Mr C. Banks’s Dottrel!, Mr D. Crozier’s Matarere, and Mr •C. Kitson’s Tamara, were successful in gaining places. Mr O. Banks won the Britannia Cup, and Mr C. Kitson the Caroline Bay cham-j p'ionship at Timaru. The power-boat section was unfortunately showing a der, dine each season, and the two races held with the hope of reviving Interest had b.een poorly supported. The new club* house at Kairakl was well under way,thanks to the enthusiasm and tireless efforts of the commodore. Mr D. Crozler, and the work carried out by the members in preparing the foundations of the shed and the slipway. The committee ex-: pressed its appreciation and thanks for the financial assistance. received from-the Lyttelton Harbour Board and others, and to the Kaiapoi Borough Council lor granting the section free of charge. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £2O 4s 9d, of which £l4 10s was to bedevoted towards the cost of the new club .’house.
The 5 report and . balance-sheet were adopted.

Meallngs; committee, Messrs E. Qborh, K. Whitmore, C. Triggsr, C. Packer, J. Leech, and P. Vivian: delegate to the Canterbury Sailing and Power-Boat Association,: Messrs E. Oborn and C. Banks; delegate to the Canterbury; Regatta -Committee, Mr O. Crozler. ,
In appreciation of their pgst services the commodore (Mr D, Crozler) and Mr C. Kitson were elected life members of the club,,. Eight new. members, were elected. Arrangements for the official opening of the season were left to the committee.
The .chairman reported. that the new club house and slipway would be ready lor use oh opening day.
BRIGHTON POWER BOAT CLUB The 'commodore, Mr P. Nelson, presided over a good attendance of members at the forty-eighth annual meeting of the Brighton .Power-Boat .-.Club. , / The report. stated that the- . balanceshgct: wa» the best in - the. history, of-the dUb. that donations - received amounted- to’-819. 'The balance-sheet shotted receipts 8100 Os 9d .’(including B2S' -9e, 9d brought forward), expenditure 832 Os 9d. and asscU 'B 184. Os 7d (including cash in bank- and in hand, 7 8109 Os 7d). The racing events bad been well supported during the season, and the club trophies had. been presented by .the commodore. : ■
