+ CLUB FORMED AT NEW BRIGHTON DECISION AT WELL-ATTENDED 'meeting To discuss the possibility of forming a cricket club in New Brighton, a wellattended meeting was held in the borough. The Mayor (Mr E. L. Smith) presided, It was explained that the previous club had gone out of existence, and had left unpaid debts amounting to approximately £l3. This liability was partly offset'by a small cash balance and some material, part of which could be used. The trustees were prepared to hand over all there was left of the club to a new club if formed and properly constituted. After a general discussion, it was unanimously decided that a club, to be known as the New Brighton Cricket Club, be formed, and that the assets and all legitimate liabilities of the old club be taken over. C. Thompson, D. Doak, W. B. Cant, J. A. Mills, H. J. Lloyd, and G. G. Mather. VETERANS’ CLUB

The Veterans’ Cricket Club held its annual meeting on Thursday. There was a good attendance of members, and Mr H. E. Lawrence presided. The financial statement showed a small credit balance and the club to be in a sound state. Three new’members were elected. Officers elected were:—Patron, Mr F. Brittan; president, Mr H. E. Lawrence; vice-president, Mr F. Wedd; captain, Mr E. C. Tipping: vice-captain, Mr C. Hotz; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. E. Fleming. It was left in the hands of Mr C. Hotz to arrange all the fixtures. The opendate decided on was Thursday, October 6.
