RECORD-BREAKING CAR DAMAGED
MISHAP AT 360 MILES AN HOUR

BONNEVILLE (Utah), Sept. 21,
The Thunderbolt has been damaged and further attempts on the land speed record have been postponed until 1939. The covering over the two rear wheels fouled while the car was travelling at What the driver (Captain G, E. T. Eyston) believed to -be in excess of 360 miles an hour.
The machine clocked 349.85 mjles an hour over the official mile, through which it lurched on its metal shell like a bob-sledge.

Sir Malcolm Campbell has announced that he is building a new Bluebird, with which he hopes to beat his own record next year.
