SECTION OF WEST COAST ROAD CLOSED

REPAIRS BETWEEN SPRINGFIELD AND LAKE LYNDON

The Porter's Pass section of the main road to the West Coast, from Springfield to Lake Lyndon, will be closed to traffic from noon to-day for repairs. According to a report from the Automobile Association, Canterbury, it is expected that the section will be reopened before the week-end. Motorists wishing to travel to the West Coast via Arthur's Pass may do so by going to Windwhistle (near the Rakaia Gorge bridge), passing the Lake Coleridge homestead on <ihe east side of the lake, and then following the signs directing to Lake Lyndon.
