GORDON BENNETT CUP RACE
LEADING COMPETITOR IN BULGARIA

SOFIA, September 14.
In the Gordon Bennett balloon race, the* Polish balloon Lopp fell at Thoyan, Northern Bulgaria, 1050 miles from the start, after a storm. The occupants of the balloon are safe. '
A message from Brussels - states that the Lopp is provisionally heading in the race. ; ' . * ; Two of the nine starters have not, reported. -
After being closed for a week because of measles, the Reefton Convent School and the primary department of the Reefton District High School were reopened again on Wednesday morning. At the District High School, if the attendance is low, the school will again close until Monday, when a committee meeting will be- held, to make a decision about a reopening date.
