VISIT BY TIMARU SAVAGE CLUB
CHRISTCHURCH CLUB’S KORERO
Thirty-seven members of the Timaru Savage Club “raided” the Christchurch Savage Club hapu on Saturday evening and presented an enjoyable programme. The great chief of the Timaru Club. Savage Leo Collins, who presided, was installed by Savage H. Duckworth (great chief of the Christchurch Club). During the evening the chairman was elected an honorary member of the Christchurch Club, Savage Duckworth presenting him with the club’s badge. Items were given as follows:—Selection, “Yeomen of the Guard,” and a march by Leopold, Christchurch Club’s orchestra; piano-aocordeon solos. Savage W. Lewis; baritone solos, Savage Alan Shrimpton; humorous sketches. Savages W. Pickard. Smith, Browning, and Baxter; recitation, Savage W. Martin; saxophone solos. Savage Pickard; humorous songs. Savage J. Duncan; vocal solos. Savage L. Donohue; conjuring, Savage E. Thomas. Savage F. Sauire was accompanist. Yesterday morning, the visitors were taken for a motor drive over the Summit road.
