NEW SHIP FOR TASMAN

UNUSUAL FEATURES (Received March 11, 12.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 10. The steamer James Cook, which is to enter the trans-Tasman service, arrived here yesterday from the United Kingdom. She is a steel vessel of 2142 tons register, and was originally built for the carriage of locomotives, steel girders and large machinery. Her hatches are 62 feet long, and the ship has many unusual features.
