The holder of the winning art union ticket, "Billy the Stiff,'' is a wellknown Dannevirke land agent, Mr William Sharpley. Pie told an interesting story of why he bought the ticket. He had intended going to the Wellington races, having received two "tips." At the last moment, however, his plans were changed and he did not back the horses he had intended to favour. They won, paying substantial dividends. In disgust he sought consolation by buying an art union ticket under the nom-de-plume of "Billy the Stiff." WINNER OF SECOND PRIZE ..FBBSS ASSOCIATIOK TBLEGRAUj HOKITIKA, March 5. The second prize winner of the art union is Mr James Kerr, of West Coast Motors, Ltd. CHRISTCHURCH SUCCESS The winners of the prize of £3OO are Mr and Mrs J. Buick, the ticket being taken in the name of Mrs Buick, who bought it. When she was seen yesterday by a ! reporter of "The Press" Mrs Buick said that the news ef her success was most pleasant. She is a firm believer in economy and proposes to bank the money. The money was the more welcome because recently Mr Buick has been out of work, althpugh he has another position in view. Mr Buick was formerly employed at the Crystal Palace Theatre as a motion-picture operator.
