SOUTH BRIGHTON PROGRESS LEAGUE
The monthly meeting of the South Brighton Progress League was held in the Bridge Street Hall last evening, Mr F. T. Woodward, the president, being in the chair. It was reported that nothing had been done about metalling the Esplanade near the corner of Beatty street or in the parking of a piecart on the roadside. It was decided that instead of nominating candidates for the council at the forthcoming election the league members should support those candidates who give satisfactory answers to questions by the league, and which will be put to candidates during the election campaign. The secretary of the Gala Committee ("Mr A. S. Paterson) reported that the profit available from the gala held on January 2 was £24 13s. j On the motion of Mr Woodward, the | council will be asked to remove the j top-decking and widen the roadway J of the narrow portion of the South ; Brighton bridge approach.
