♦ HIGHWAYS BOAKD AND CITY COUNCIL PROSECUTIONS Prosecutions brought by the City Council for breaches of the traffic regulations were dealt with by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.. in the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning as follows: — Touting for hire: Robert Anderson lined 5.s and ordered to pay costs. Parking in prohibited area: Horace Stanley Papps fined 5s and ordered to pav costs. Parking within 20 feet of an intersection: Thomas Hyde, lined 5s and ordered to pay costs. Parking over time limit: Harry Charles Mansfield, fined 10s and ordered to pay costs. Voluntary Appearances Passing stationary tram —Alexander D. Shepherd, fined 10s and ordered to pay costs. Proceeding against signal—William Moffat, fined 10s and ordered to pay costs. Speeding—Laurie C. Leadbetter, fined 20s and ordered to pay costs. Failing to give way—John Robertson Henderson, fined 20s and ordered to pay costs. Overloading motor-lorry—Clemens and Smith, fined 20s and ordered to pay costs. Noisy exhaust on motor-cycle;— Charles Cook, lined 20s and ordered to pav costs. Unlicensed vehicle—Ellis Boyce, fined 20s and ordered to pay costs. Highways Board Cases The following prosecutions were instituted by the Main Highways Beard: Operating heavy traffic vehicle at more than 20 miles an hour—William Millner, fined 20s and ordered to pay costs. Speeding-Alfred N. Wicks and Ray F. Ellmers, each fined £2, and ordered to pay costs.
