MONDAY (Before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.) THEFT OF MATERIAL Annie O'Keefe, aged 56 years, of Tancrcd street, pleaded guilty to the theft of two remnants of material valued at 12s lOd, the property of Millers. Ltd. She was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within 12 months on the condition that she took out a prohibition order forthwith. Chief-Detective W. H. Dunlop said the accused was addicted to liquor, but had not been before the court since 1928. She had stated that she would not have committed the offence if she had not been indulging in liquor. DRUNKENNESS James Faulkner, aged 60 years, was lined 20s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment, for being found drunk in North road, Papanui. MAINTENANCE COURT i Before Mr H., P. Lawry, S.M.; Norman Karnbach, convicted of disobeying a maintenance order, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, the issue of the warrant to be suspended provided £lO was paid forthwith, and the balance of arrears paid off at the rate of 10s a week, in addition to the amount of the current order. George William Kennington was sentenced to one month's imprisonment for a similar offence, the issue of the warrant to be suspended provided arrears are . paid off within seven days. An affiliation order, with maintenance at the rate of 12s Gd a week, was made against T. Downcs. Defendant was ordered to pay costs and expenses and 25s as past maintenance. A maintenance order for 7s 6d a week was made against Cuthbert George Holland in respect of a destitute relative. i Before Mr H. A. Young, S.M.) Campbell Campbell Macdonald was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for disobedience of a maintenance order, the issue of the warrant to be suspended provided arrears are paid off at the rate of 2s (id a week, in addition to the current order.
