ASSAULT ALLEGED
- MAN AND WOMAN REMOVED TO HOSPITAL I'RE.iS ASSOCIATION rELKUKAH.t WELLINGTON, March 4. Injuries received as a result of an alleged assault with a bottle resulted in J. King, of Ghuznee street, a traveller, being removed to hospital yesterday morning with lacerated wounds to the face and head, and Mrs A. Hunter, of Roxburgh street, with a wound to the forehead from a piece of glass. A man. aged 50 years. Thomas Carroll Russell Hunter, a butcher, was to-day charged with assaulting King so as to cause actual bodily harm, and he was remanded until March 13. Asking for bail, Mr R. Hardie Boys said that. Hunter had gone to King's rooms on a matter of business and found his wife there with King. Hunter had lived and worked in Wellington for many years, and, although he bpd lately been separated from his wife, there was no likelihood of his not answering to bail. Bail was granted in the sum of £IOO. conditional on the accused reporting daily to the police. He was also ordered not to approach his wife or King in the meantime.
