Some of this variety of seed was purchased earlier in the season at up to 2s 3d for machine dressed, but to-day merchants are not prepared to buy, a.s they find it impossible to secure business overseas, on the high values being asked by the farmers. Dogstail is firm owing to the short crop, and this season's best machine dressed is worth Is 4d per lb. Algerian, Dun, and Ci urton oats are enquired for, but offerings aro limited. lliero ia a good demand for partridge plan. Owing to the bad season samples are not coming to hand in any quantity. All small seeds are in strong demand and the market is firm at late ruling rates. (iuod, bright oalsheaf chaff ia enquired for, but few lines are offering. The following are juices to be paid to farmers, on trucks at country stations, sacks extra unless otherwise mentioned: Wheat—New season's, Tuscan 4s, Hunters 4s Pearl and Velvet -Is 4d (all f.o.b.h (loud whole fowl wheat 3s 3d, wheat seconds 3s lid. Oats—Gartons 2s 3d, Algerians 2s 3d, Duns 2s 'id a bushel. Chaff—Good, bright oatsheaf. £3 5s a ton. Grass Seed—Perennial, Italian and Western Woltlis, 2s Cd to 3s, cocksfoot 8d to 9d per lb, white clover Cd to 9d per lb. Peas—No. 1 partridge, 5s a bushel, f.n.q. 4s Cd a, busheL.
