MANNEQUIN PARADE INTERRUPTED
<s> DISPLAY OF GERMAN GOODS P. O\( OT T ADVOC ATEI > LONDON, February 213. During a parade of beautiful German mannequins at a Mayfair hotel, organised by the Berlin Fashion Union, Miss Monica Whatley, a member of the anti-German boycott movement, shouted, "I protest!" The mannequins stood still and the orchestra was silenced. Miss Whatley cried: "One hundred thousand Germans have been driven out of their country and 20,000 sent to gaol because of their beliefs. The women of other countries should boycott German goods." Some members of the audience hissed and some applauded. Commandant M. Allen, chief of the women police, who was in the audience, prevented other speeches, and a dozen women walked out. The parade was then resumed.
