SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Mrs J. Temple (Highfield), who was the guest of Mrs C. F. Hamilton (Ashwick, Fairlie), is now staying with Mrs Bruce Murray, Godley Peaks, Mackenzie Country. Mrs E. G. Kerr ("Ardgour," Sealy street) left yesterday for Wellington to attend the mid-year meeting of the New Zealand executive of the Ladies Golf Union. Miss Loo Cartwright (Orbell street) and Miss Anne Lindsay, who were guests of Mrs Bruce Murray (Godley Peaks), have returned to Timaru. Mrs K. D. Henderson (Oxford), who was the guest of Mrs Owen Blackler (Hazelburn), has returned home. Dr. and Mrs J. C. Mackenzie (Queen street) are visiting Dunedin where Dr. Mackenzie will attend the medical conference. Mrs Gawith (Otipua road), who has been on a visit to Dunedin, has returned home. Miss Diana Orbell (Levels) has returned from a visit to Mrs R. HunterWeston, Mount John, Tekapo. Mrs Atkinson (Christchurch) is the guest of Mrs W. J. McKeown, St. Andrews. DANCE AT MARSHLAND A successful dance and euchre tournament was held by the Novelty Jazz Club at the Marshland Hall. Music for dancing was supplied by Mrs Marks, Messrs Fowler, J. Blackburn, and S. Gorinski, and extras were played by Miss Heeley, Messrs I. and K. Harris, and Allan. Mr N. Mooney was master of ceremonies, and exhibition dances were given by Misses K. and J. Quaid. Mesdames Richards and Sharlick, and Messrs Nooney and G. Boloski won the card prizes. A novelty dance was won by Miss Irene Rogal and Mr H. R. Marks. Amongst those present were Mr and Mrs F.
