PICNICS

VICTORY MEMORIAL SCHOOL In spite ot the inclement weather in the latter part of the afternoon, the children of the Victory Memorial School, St. Albans, and their parents spent an enjoyable day at Diamond Harbour on Friday, when tho annual picnic of the school was held. More than 200 persons wero present. The morning was spent in bathing, and in the afternoon a sports programme, arranged by tho teachers, who were assisted by members of the school committee and some of the parents, was held. BAPTIST MOTHERS' MEETING The members of thu Oxford Terrace Baplist Mothers' Meeting held their annual picnic at Now Brighton. As the weather was had they were offered the use o£ the side hall of Joyland Theatre. A very enjoyable tinio was spent. Thero wore community singing and games before lunch, and in tho afternoon races were held, when the successful ones received prizes. Afternoon tea ended a very enjoyablo day. Tho committee responsible was: Mesdames T. W. Voller, K. Langran, H, 11. Holland, Coulson, Price, and V. .Sim, also Miss Gainsford (deaconess) and Miss M. Sheate.
