NATIONAL CONCERT.
ST. PATRICK'S DAY. St. Patrick'* Day functions on Thursday, March 17th, to celebrate the fifteenth centenary of the arrival of St. Patrick in Ireland, will include an Irish National concert, to be held in St James' Theatre, in the evening. The funds from the conceit will be given to Nazareth House. The programme will be as follows-.—Overture, "The Shamrock" (Myddleton), Christchurch Returnee. Soldiers' Orchestra (conductor, Mr H. G-. Glaysher); chorus, '.'O'Donnell Abu" (traditional), Marist Brothers' boys; clarinet solo. Gavotte and variations, "A Violet" (F. W. Woledge), Mr F. W. Woledge; song, "Rose of Tralee" (Glover), Mr Robert Allison; song, "For the Green" (Hermann Lohr), Madame Winnie Fraser; humorous song, "Phil the Fluter's Ball" (Percy French), Mr J. Lockhart; dance, Irish Reel, Misses Lorraine Lagan, Flora Fitt, Eileen Minion, Josephine Mercer (Miss Muriel Weugh's pupils); song, "The Kerry Dance" (Molloy), Miss Cecily Audibert. Part II.: Overture, "Memories of Tara" (Bishop), Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Orchestra; chorus, (a) "The Harp That Once" (Moore), (b) "Erin, the Tear and the Smile" (Moore), Girls' Choir from combined Convent Schools (conducted by Miss Mary O'Connor); cornet solo, "By the Avon" (F. W. Woledge), Mr Herbert Fox; dance, Dutch duo, Misses Lorraine Lagan and Josephine Mercer; sons, "Let Erin Remember" {traditional, arr. Stanford), Madame Winnie Fraser; song, "The Minstrel Boy" (Moore), Mr W. Toomey; a<ng, "KilJarney" (Balfo), Miss Cecily Audibert; dance, Irish Hornpipe, boys from St. Joseph's, Middleton (Irish pipe accompaniment by Mr J. Gilhpoly).
