BOROUGH COUNCILS.
AKAROA. The Borough Council met on Wednesday. Ftesent: The Mayor (Mr G. Armstrong), Crs. C. YV. Aldridge, F. R. Davis, C. \V. Leete, 'l\ .McCaugluvn, and A. E. Munro. The Hi'b School's application for repairs to the boundary fence was granted. The Public Trustee notified that he would act as Sinking Fund Commissioner for the workers' dwelling loan. , The North Canterbury Education Board wrote requesting that the matter of elosin" Selwyn street bo held over in the rnean- ' Towards the upkeep of the memorial plot, £■2o was voted to the .War Memorial Committee. .... i j> . If, was decided to apply for an extension of the hours of attendance at the Akaroa. telephone bureau' dUring the Easter holidays. It was reported that, a number of unemployed men were in urgent need of work, and it was decided to forward a request to ravf- the No. 5 Scheme reinstated during March.
