BURWOOD NOTES.

The Burwood Progressive Association hold a meeting on Thursday. The public were invited to attend to consider, resuming collecting for the Pound Scheme. There were present: Messrs F. lleaby (chairman),, W. J. Walter, J. Liggins, J. Byers, F. Cusack, Scrivener, J. Cullimore, and Ecroyd (secretary), and Mesdames Martin and Kerr. The chairman stated- the object of the meeting. It was decided for the time being to carry on as at present. The chairman is to approach persons who are likely to assist in tho work. # . • Mr Liggins gave details of his visit to Wellington to interview the Highways Board in reference *o having Travis road and Francis road declared a secondary highway.
