BROADSIDING.
SEASON CLOSES TONIGHT. Tho last broadsiding meeting of the season will be held *at Monica Park to-night, and a very large'field of riders will take part in a programme comprising handicap, scratch, and match races, and special feature events.; Though it was the original intention to close tlie season last week, the management has acceded to the request for one more meeting, a decision which depended on whether \y. Kilmister, the Wellington rider, was available. Because there is no meeting in Wellington this Week, Kilmister will be able to ride here, so that in addition to Cyril Anderson, the Australian, the public will nee the Now Zealand crack in action as well as a contingent of Canterbury riders including C. Blacklock and J. Hobson. As Kilmister is at the peak of his form, something unusual in times may be expected tonight. He has beaten all the overseas visitors to New Zealand this season, including. V. Huxley, T. Farndon, Nobby Key, and Kay Tauser, the American. To-night he will meet Cyril Anderson in three special matchi races. In trying fo eclipse the flying mile record last week Anderson showed himself as the fastest rider who has appeared at Monica Park, and he was. unlucky to have a mishap in the last few yards of his performance. Both Kilmister and Anderson will attempt to lower the flying mile record to-night. C. Blacklock will be called on to defend his right to hold the Chevrolet gold helmet, J. Hobson being. the challenger. A record crowd is anticipated for this final meeting. A special effort, has been made' to cater for the public. The gates will be opened at 6;30 p.m. >
