CENTRE MATCHES.
RINKS AND PAIRS. The champion of champions Tints and psii-s competitions will be continued on Saturday, the rinks on Canterbury green and the pairs on Christchurch green. In each case two rounds will he played, the first starting at 12.30 p.m. Tlic semi-finals and the final will be played on the Christchurch green on Saturday of next week, and it is expected that the finals of the Centre rinks and pairs championships will also be played on the same day. FRIENDLY GAME. The first annnal match took place on Wednesday, on the Canterbury green, between the members of the Licensed Victuallers' Association and the Canterbury Bowling Club, and resulted in a narrow victory for the latter. Mr R. Nasli, president of the Licensed Victuallers' Association;' in hßnding over the silver cup which was presented for competition between the two teams by a supporter of the game, said that It was a pleasure to all his members to spend, the afternoon nmongst the members of the Canterbury Club. He and his members will do their best to win the trophy next year. Mr Arthur Rose, president of the Canterbury Bowling Club, in accepting the cap on behalf of the club, thanked 3fr Nash for his kindly remarks, and assured the members of the Assdciation that his committee would be willing -ftt all times to grant the use of the Canterbury bowling green.
