Sales have been made for July-Septem-ber at £6 15s f.0.b., s.i., and for AprilJune at £5 10s, although the general quotation is £5 7s 6d. No idea is yet possible as to how the crops will turn out but the general idea is for a considerably lower tonnage per acre than last season. Values to farmers are £4 10s. Onions are quoted at £7 10s a ton on trucks. Fowl wheat is easier. Prompt is quoted at 4s 4d to 4s 4id f.0.b., and "spread" at 4s sid. There is no change in the oats market, but chaff has eased, and is now quoted at £4 a ton on trucks. The seed market is unchanged. Quotations. The following are quotations for produce to be paid to farmers, on trucks, free of commission, sacks extra, except where otherwise stated:— Wheat —Wheat Marketing Board's price: Tuscan, 4s BAd, f.0.b.; Hunters, 4s 10£ d; Pearl, 5s Oid. Perennial Ryegrass—To 4s. Italian Ryegrass —3s 6d to 3s 9d. White Clover —Is 6d to Is 9d. Peas —4s 9d a bushel. Potatoes —£4 10s. Onions —£7 10s. Bran —£4 a ton for shipping, £5 local. , ... Supplies of potatoes are very plentiful, and the ex.st-ore price for Pukekohe and other Auckland grown lines lias been reduced to £6 10s per ton. Manawatu command £1 a ton more. The onion market is firm, a'nd current quotations are from 10s 6d to lis per cwt. The oat market is very firm, and quotations have been raised to 4s 3d per bushel for B Gartons, with rates for other varieties also advanced accordingly There is no alteration m chaff, which still ■ells at £8 10s per ton. An excellent demand exists for fowl wheat, of which there are plentiful supplies. Quotations are steady at 6s 3d per bushel. Maize is very firm, and with a probable scarcity of supplies in future, values have advanced. Merchants are now asking 0s 3d per bushel. RANGIORA MARKET. The attendance at the weekly market yes terday was fair. There was an average yardine of sheep. The fats were mostly ewes, which all sold well at ruling rates, but there were few fat lambs and only a small entry of fat wether*. Beßt quality ewes mad® from Cs to 6s 9d, best fat lambs made 13a 8d to 15s 6d, and best fat wethers 13s to 14s 3d. There were about 60 small pigs. Produce —Ohlckwheat brought 14s a bag, meal 5s to 10s, peas 15s 6d, oatsheaf chaff 3s, straw chaff 2s, potatoes 3s sugar bag, carrots 2s tin, turnips 3d bundle, beetroot 3d, 'marrows 3d to Is each, lettuces Id, cabbages Bd, cauliflowers 3d, onions Is string, rhubarb 3d bundle, peas Is 6d peck, nectarines 3s cases, apples 2s, peaches 3s 6d, tomatoes 2d lb. Skins, etc. —Halfbred sheepskins sold to 4a 4d, crossbred 2s 2d, pelts Id to 3d, hides 8s to 4s, calfskins Is, yearling skins Bs, horsehair Is lb, wool 4}d, locks ljd, fat id. ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET. Frices among the prime fat sheep at the Tinwald saleyards yesterday showed a firming tendency, but the unfinished sorts, o£ which there was a large number, sold at rates about on a par with those at the previous week's Bale. Bidding was very brisk among the butchers for the primer pens, while the rest were left to the freezing buyers. There were not eo many fat lambs yarded, but prices were steady at last week's values. The best pen of fat ewes were sold for 14b Id, on account of a client. The sum of 13s 7d was the next highest price obtained,' by Mr R. H Hampton, of'Mitcham. Light ewes sold, from 4e to 6s 6d, medium up to 10s, and heavy to 14s Id. Only a few pens of wethers were yarded, and Mr R. H. Hampton topped the market with two pens of 18 sheep, which realised 17s 7d. A pen of three, on account of Mr W. Wells, of Greenstreet, sold for 16a lOd. A pen of seven fat lambs, on account of. the Selma Estate, which brought 16s 7d, topped the market. Another pen of seven, on account of the same estate, were sold for ISs lOd. Light lambs sold from 10s to 12s, medium up to 14s, and heavy 16a 7d. There was a good average yarding of store sheep. Good sorts of store lambs were plentiful and commanded fairly good prices. Store lambs sold from 5s lOd to 12s, fourtooth ewes up to 13s 7d, two, four, six, and eiglit-looth ewes up to 10s, and failing-mouth ewe 6 round about is 6d. PRICE OF SILVER.
