CORDIAL RECEPTION TO NEW ADMINISTRATOR. [THE pRESS Special B#r?4ce. J AUCKLAND, May 11. Jklr W. J). Gascoigne, of Blenheim, wfyo travelled to Apia with the Administrator of Samoa, Mr H. E. Jiart, and returned by the Tofua U* day, said' the reception accorded hiq Excellency Ws a particularly cordial one. So far as the Man was concerned, there was no demonstration of any kind. "As a matter of fact," said Mr Gas-, coigne, "there is every appearance that the iSamoan troubles are virtually at ai> end. It is true that a considerable injmber of MaU women dressed in their finery, paraded the streets on the ntprning of the Administrator's arrival, but the parade was piore in the nature of a friendly gesture."
