MID-CANTERBURY. x ;■ ' i ■ The members present at the quarterly meeting of the* Mid-Canterbury Licensing Committee held at the Courthouse, Leeston, yesterday, were Messrs H. A. Young, S.M. (chairtnan), S. 6. Holmes, E. B. Newton, and I. McGill. Transfers were granted'as follows: Railway Hotel, Doyleston, from M. Riordan to W. C.Beamriey; South r Ra-f kaia Hotel from M T. Healey to John Halliday. In the latter case a certificate of waivure was granted-with respect to the length of notice given of intention to 'apply for a transfer The chairman stated that the police reports were on the whole satisfactory. It was noted that two. prosecutions against licensees had taken place, and 'these would be taken into consideration at the annual meeting when applications for renewals were being dealt with. ■ ■ *," "
