LAND DRAINAGE.
ELLESMERE BOARD. . ; '7 ■v-v'S'.y -"V-"': The Ellesmere Lands Drainage Board met yesterday morning, Mr R. M. Morten presiding.- Others present 'were Messrs H. J. Macartney, P. Miller, John Sharp, IV. iJowney, H. Pickering, F. Coop, and James Mackenzie (Clerk and Engineer). The Clerk reported that the cleaning of Price's Drain had been: completed, i and was now in a very satisfactory condition. The weed cutter was worked over the lower portions of the river and canal during the first half of February, and would be used on the bali ance of the river about the middle of this month. . ' The following drains had received' ' attention: —Quaife's road, Tramway road; Tai Tapu township, mam drain,. Mockler's,.-Townshend's. LadbrooKs set--i tlement, and the upper reaches of the 'Wftlawnli Riwr. 1 •The JixLtial statement showed, a credit in the Post Office account of £560 12s. 3d, and in, the current ac--count £202 7s ; 2d.
