VISIT TO MASTERTON. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELECi It AM. J MASTKItTON , Dooomhor 9. Tho Governor-Coiioral and Lady Bledisloe paid an official visit to Mastor ton to-day, being welcomed at a gathering 111 the Town Hall in the morning, and entertained at luncheon, at which tliei'e was a representative ittendance f rom all parts of the \\ ai.arapa distriet. In the afternoon their Excellencies attended a gutner.ng oi iscbool children in the Park and visited the secondary schools and Uic Public Hospital. Speaking at the luncheon, Ixii'U BteiUstoe spoke of the scope in .New Zealand for the development of land, of which there were large areas which >vere quite possible of economic and ■emuii-erative development under ordinary conditions livery effort must ho made to assure such conditions as to make output ol relatively small areas of fertile land sufficient to constitute an attractive living to some oi the more, onterprising young agriculturists.
