* Social. A social was held in St. Mary's Sunday School, when there waa a good attendance. During the evening the Bev.. F. A. Tooley presented Mrs Loney with, a clock in recognition of her services as pianist at the socials. A lucky spot waltz was won by Mr G. Westbrooke and Mrs L. Cogle. Music for the dance was supplied by Mrs Loney, and Mr E. H. Beaumont played extras. Mr Tooley was M.C. Sunday School Picnic. St. Mary's Sunday School scholars' at Heathcote Valley held their annual picnic at Diamond Harbour. The weather was all that could be desired, and about 100 children, teachers, and friends made the trip. They spent an enjoyable day in ideal surroundings. The morning was spent in games, and after lunch a sports programme was gone through. Results: — Bible Class boys, Percy Brooke 1; Bible Class girls, Myrtle Halliday 1; senior boys, Norman Stowe 1, Reg. Arnold 2; senior girls, Margaret Patterson 1, Betty Morgan 2; junior girls, Connie Stowe 1, Winsome Colville 2; junior boys, Stafford Brooks 1, Ernest Collins 2; married ladies' race, Mrs W. Deavoll 1, Mrs G. Watt 2; single ladies' race, Miss N. Flavell 1; three-legged race (boys), Arthur Watt and Reg. Arnold 1, Stafford Brooks and Ron. Stevens 2; three-legged race (girls), Winsome Colville and May Collins 1, Connie Stowe and Margaret Patterson 2. The Gardens. The pea-picking season is in full swing in Heathcote at present, and a large quantity of peas is being marketed daily. Cherries and strawberries are also being picked in fair quantities. A large area is planted in tomatoes again this year, and •ie plants are looking well.
