TRAMWAY BOARD.
| ELECTION OF MEMBERS. OFFICIAL RESULT. The official result of the triennial election of members of the Christchurch Tramway Board, held last Thursday, was announced yesterday afternoon by the Returning Officer, Mr Prank Thompson. The official count has made no alteration in the personnel of the new Board as set out on the morning after the election. "With one exception, that of Mr H. Pearce (Central Sub-district) the figure* of the official result show increases as compared with those given out on election night. Mr Pearce was credited with 5352 votes on election night, but with 5288 in the official result; this does not, however, alter hi* position on the poll. The official result was arrived at,with considerable promptitude, . reflecting credit on the Returning Officer and his staff. The scrutiny of the roll was started at 9.30 ajn. on Friday, and was completed at 12,15 pjn. on Saturday. At 1.30 p.m. the same day the official count was started, and was completed at 11.55 a.m. on Monday. A total of 337 votes were made by declaration, and these had to be investigated at the different local body offices; this was completed yesterday morning. Of the total, 198 declaration votes were allowed. In the official count no fewer than 98 rolls had to be compared.
