PROVINCIAL COUNCIL CHAMBER. ♦ MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The committee of the Canterbury Provincial Buildings Board set up in connexion with the repairs and renovations of the Provincial Council Chamber and the other portion of the buildings under their control, met on Monday. Sir Heaton Rhodes presided and Messrs E. J. Howard, M.P., and R \V. Hawke, M.P., also attended. Amongst the matters discussed was that of letting the Chamber for public meetings and for other gatherings of an approved character, and it was stated that reasonable rates had been arranged, particulars of which _ were obtainable from Mr H. R. Robinson, chief clerk of the Lands and Survey Department, and secretary of tne Board. The hone was expressed that as this is the Board's sole source ot revenue, advantage w6uld be taken ot the facilities provided for holding public gatherings in the Chamber.
