CYCLING CLUB.

MEETING AT NEW BRIGHTON. At 'a meeting of cycling enthusiasts at New Brighton last evening the Mayor of New Brighton (Mr J. H. Bhaw) presided over a good attendance. The convener of the meeting (Mr A. Branch) said that cycle races had been promoted in the borough for the benefit of schoolboys, and he thought there was suftlcient material to form a club. It was for the meeting to decide whether a club should be formed under the wing of the Athletic Club, or whether there should be a separate club. ... . Mr Shaw said that it was gratifying to see such a large attendance of cyclists. If a cycling club were formed it could be said that New Brightoh catered for practically every branch of pport. • , Mr S J. Gallaclier (president of the New Brighton Amateur Athletic Club) expressed the oninion that it would be advantageous both to the cyclists and to the Athletic Club if the cyclists amalgamated with tho Athletic Club. . After a general discussion, Mr J. Wilson moved that a separate cycling club be formed This was seconded by Mr H. J. Savage', and carried unanimously.
