VETERANS* CLUB. The Veterans will play a team of busincsß men from Sumner at Hagley Park at 2 o'clock to-day.

WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. (PRESS tSSOCIATIOH TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, November 25. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association, the chairman (Mr V. B. Broad) invited an expression of opinion upon the advisability of holding trial matches in order to pick a New Zealand team for England. Mr Hatina said that there would be only about four players to select after the certainties had been written down. He considered that the selectors would be quite competent to complete the team without going to the expense of holding trial matches. Mr W. Christopherson said he thought that a North v. South Island trial match would be the best draw. It was decided to leave the matter over till the next meeting.
