The Competitions Committee reported that, owing to the fact that three teams had been •if* * or so; ' on d place, it had proved impossible to adhere to the arrangements originally made in connexion with the completion ot the competition in the first grade. They had decided to stage three more rounds, and to abandon all idea of a knock-out competition in that section. , Tho competition had been completed in * other grades, the winning teams in tho different sections being as follows:—Second Technical College; third grade, Boys' High School; fourth grade. Boys' High bohool; fifth grade. Boys' High School A. The knock-out competition in the four lower Sondes is to commence next Saturday. The report was received and adopted. E. R. Cay gill Bat. The consideration of the performances of the various nomineos for the E, R. Caygill bat was then proceeded with, and it was decided that the bat this season should be awarded to D. Cobden, of tho Boys' High fachool. Representative Matches. Letters were receivod from the cricketing £ ut korities in 'Greymouth, Hokitika, and iJunedin regarding the playing of representatives matches this season. The Otago Boys' Cricket Association suggested that its annual matches with the Can* terbury Boys' Association 6hould be played in Christchurch on December 19th and 20th. After some discussion it was decided to adVis ® Otago that tho dates were unsuitable, and to suggest December 13th and 15th as alternatives, and, in the event of these prov. ing inconvenient to Otago, to ask Otago to choose dates after the New Year. Greymouth. and Hokitika both advised that they were willing to receive the Boys' Association representative teams at some time -December. After some consideration 1 the following tentative itinerary was drawn up for the approval of the West Coast authorities:— December lGth, Canterbury teams leave Christchurch for Greymouth; December 17th ind 18th, Canterbury play in Greymouth; December 19th, Canterhurv travel to Hokitika; December 20th and 22nd, Canterbury play in Hokitika; December 23rd, . Canterbury return to Christchurch. Mr G. S. A. Biltcliif was appointed to make all necessary arrangements regarding the ! tour of the West Coast and the Otago games, i and also to act as manager of the teams selected to travel to the Coast. Mr R. R. Gibson was appointed as assistant manager for the teams. KNOCK-OUT COMPETITION. Next Saturday the eleventh round ot games will be played in the first (under sixteen years) grade of th e Canterbury BoysCricket Association's 1930 competition. At the same time a commencement will bo made with the knock-out competition in the lower grades. Owing to the fact that there are only two Saturdays available for play, it has been found necessary to reduce the number of competitors in each grade to four thereby limiting the knock-out to a couple of rounds. No team has been eliminated, however, the necessary reduction being effected by the fusion of certain of tho weaker elevens. In consequence, the teams for the Knock-out competitions have been chosen by the Association's selectors, who intend that the games in them shall count as trial matches in connexion with the picking ->f the representative teams which are to play against Otago and the West Coast. In coses where two schools or clubs have been combined, each of them must supply suffl cient material for their own players, and, in the event of any boy being unable to plav next Saturday, the school concerned will be expected to provide a suitable emergency, ine captain of each team must provide a an< * a * or his particular game, lne following is the draw;— FIRST GRADE.
