TRAMWAY BOARD ELECTION.
ADDRESSES AT NEW BRIGHTON.
At a meeting convened by the New Brighton Greater Progress Association Mr W. J. Walter nddresesd about twenty New Brighton residents. Mr Walter outlined his views, expressing his opinion as to the Tramway Board's policy in relation to New Brighton, and at the conclusion of his address was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence on the motion of Mr L. Hardie. Mr W Dean, president of the Greater Pt ogress Association, presided at the meeting. Mr J. N Harle, Labour candidate for the Avon electorate, addressed a well-attended open-air meeting of New Brighton residents on Saturday evening and was accorded a good hearing. The speaker was introduced by Mr Sehofield, who stressed the necessity for a change in the policy 3f the Christchurch Tramway Board.
