BAND CONCERTS.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE PttESH Sir, —Now that band concerts are to be a weekly event in the new Band Rotunda on the banks of the Avon, consideration can bo well given -o tho advantages of installing loud-speak-er equipment for supplementing the baud programme in the manner introduced by one of the motor companies at the concerts they arranged during Carnival Week. Tho average band concert programme averages eight selections, between each of which there is a period of rest, very necessary to the members of the band, but decidedly wearisome to the people who attend these concerts. The expense involved in filling up these gaps is quite small, so I hopi that this letter will assist to provide what has already proved a very welcome addition to our popular band concerts.—Yours, etc., MUSIC. November 21st, 1930.
