HINDU ARRESTED

ALLEGED' BREAKING AND ENTERING. <VEEB3 ASSOCIAIIOK TBLaonAU.; PALMERSTON NTH. November 17. A sequel to the chase of a young Hindu across roofs and along a street yesterday afternoon was the appearance in Court to-day of Chhngah Bhara, a fruiterer, who was charged with entering by day the premises *>f Collinson and Cunningham, and stealing goods valued at £34, and also with breaking and entering by night ' the premises of McAffer and Co., and taking a suit of clothes and a pair of trousers valued at £l2 10s. The accused was remanded till Friday next. While engaged upstairs in the offico of the New Zealand Importing Co. yesterday afternoon, W. H. Brown noticed a man on the roof of the adjoining premises, and he pursued him over'the roofs. Although hampered with a heavy travelling trunk, the man proceeded in a darinz manner along the parapet, and finally dropped to the street. He was chased and captured at th» corner of Rangitikei and King streets.
