CRIME IN CHICAGO.
POLICE CHIEFS RESIGN. (UNITED PBKBB ASSOCIATION —BT BMSCTBIC TBLBO3APH COPTEWHT.) NEW YORK, June 16. The Chicago Police Commissioner, Mr Russell, and the Chief Detective, Mr Stege, resigned to-day after public indignation had been aroused by the murder of Albert Lengle, the reporter of the "Chicago Tribune," who was shot dead at a railway station on June 9th. A Chicago message states that the "Secret Six," the business men's committee which is investigating gang activities—announced that it would enlarge the scope of its work, increasing its membership to 16.
